Hair and Beauty

Being assertive is essential for a woman in the corporate environment, and one way to increase your confidence is by paying careful attention to what you wear on your face and body, cos what you wear on your face or body sends a message to your customer. It either sends a correct message or a wrong message... By Erecare studios

Makeup
The golden rule for workplace makeup is less is more

Colours
Certain makeup colours and combinations are major no-no. Avoid bold lipstick colour like bright red, orange and pink substitute instead with light lip gloss, if you must use a lipstick  pick a colour that matches your natural lips and finish with a nice clean gloss.

Over glossy lips are a major don't . leave all the shine and glitter for night time

Foundation
Foundation is for hiding blemish and imperfections. It is not a substitute skin. Therefore, happy only in the area where you need it instead of all over your face. Doing this only helps you archive a flawless look, but evens out your complexion as well. Don't cover your face with foundation, the erratic nature of the workplace can lead to havoc on your skin.

Eyes
You can fake the appearance of having had a restful night before that great presentation, by dabbing some concealer on your finger tips and apply underneath your eyes. Applying some strokes of mascara afterwards also brightens up your eye.
Don't use multi colour eye shadow, if you must use eye shadow use neutral colour like brown.

A simple chic hairstyle is fine. You don't want an ostentatious hairstyle that will divert attention from what you are saying during an important presentation. No hairstyle screams simple elegance like a chignon.

The workplace is not a carnival for hair colour like electric red, purple and gold, you don't have to lose your female identity simply because you're in a corporate setting

Wearing soft pattern curls can help, avoid dramatic curls that have a life of their own

Avoid excessively long hair extension those don't look sophisticated.

Afro, cornrows, single braid, twist and locks are appropriate form the workplace, but keep your natural hair professional and tidy.
